When Sarah first emailed me, I was blown away at her enthusiam and love for photography. She grew up around photographer as her mom was also a portrait photographer so Sarah not only had an appreciation for the art but also a keen eye and knew exactly what she was looking for in a wedding photographer. Needless to say, I was absolutely flattered by her kind words and quickly booked an appointment to meet her and Ryan to chat more about their wedding.
Sarah and Ryan opted for a smaller, more intimate wedding day and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, Ontario, was the best fit for their wedding wishes. For those who aren’t familiar with the Oshawa area, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery is a newer art gallery in the city and has recently begun opening their doors for weddings. It’s such a thrill to work in a location that few photographers have been at before!
While some clients want a photographer present from sun rise to sun set, Ryan and Sarah opted for a shorter stay coverage. My first view of the beautiful couple was as they were walking down the aisle, only minute away from becoming Mr. and Mrs.!
After the beautiful ceremony, which was performed by a close friend of the family, Ryan and Sarah and I began our formal photo session while the guests enjoyed their cocktail hour. Although it was a chilly night, after taking all our indoor shots, Ryan and Sarah decided to brave the cold and head outside for a few night photography shots to showcase the architecture of the building in which they were celebrating.
My evening with the lovely couple finished off as I photographed the couples romantic and intimate first dance; Ryan and Sarah swayed back and forth gracefully as their close friend serenaded them with beautiful vocals and acoustic guitar. All in all, a beautiful and romantic intimate wedding at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery!
