Mildred’s Temple Kitchen Wedding
Jacqueline + Drew’s Mildred’s Temple Kitchen wedding is one of our favourite weddings that Sarah has captured to date! There’s just something about a Toronto restaurant wedding that makes us fall in love with weddings even more… Okay… I admit it. It’s not just the amazing people, it’s the fact that we drool over the food pictures as we edit. We even found ourselves making brunch dates with our friends to go to Mildred’s for their pancakes. Yes, this wedding has everyone at Ten·2·Ten craving, well, pretty much everything on the Mildred’s menu.
Enough talk about food, let us share with you the story of Jacqueline and Drew’s Mildred’s Temple Kitchen wedding: Captured by Sarah at Ten·2·Ten Photography.
The wedding day started off with, oh you know, just the most beautiful bride in the city! As Jacqueline put the finishing touches on her bridal look she also got to unwrap a special gift just for her! I’m thinking she’s a very, very lucky lady!
Jacqueline + Drew opted for a first look and they did it in the most elegant and simple way possible; Drew simply walked up to his beautiful bride-to-be and said hello. The sweet moment had everyone fighting back tears as Drew laid eyes on the most stunning woman in the city.
There are so, so, SO many advantages to doing a first look on your wedding day. Logistically, a first look makes sense when you’re having your ceremony and reception at the same location. No couple wants to leave their guests along for too long after the ceremony and no guests wants to wait around for 2 or 3 hours either. By doing a first look before the ceremony, couples can spend time mingling with their guests and enjoying their cocktail hour instead of running off to take pictures. Another one of our favourite reasons for a first look is that it allows the couple the opportunity for privacy during that intimate moment. Almost every couple who has done a first look spends a good chunk of time just staring at their partner and saying “WOW!” and “I love you so much!!” There’s a few kisses, some embraces and then some more “wow”‘s. Being able to have this little chunk of time just to yourselves during an otherwise hectic and busy wedding day is like a little slice of heaven.
Welcome to the reception – and what a reception it was! Mildred’s Temple Kitchen was roaring with laughter all night and every single person there was having an amazing time. Oh… and yes, this is the best part because, well, you know… FOOD!
Oh Mildred’s, you’ve done it again! Such beautiful and delicious dishes for these lucky wedding guests and newlyweds!
After working up an appetite on the dancefloor, the evening was finished off in the best way possible – with burgers, poutine and chicken and waffles. Trust us when we say that we’ve never seen wedding guests so happy in our lives! The atmosphere and ambiance was amazing; the love the Jaqueline and Drew share for each other is truly contagious. Combine that with the tummy’s full of tasty, tasty food and you’ve got yourself the recipe for the perfect wedding.
