The Old Mill Wedding

When searching for a Toronto wedding photographer, Jess and Matt wanted someone that fit their personality – fun, a little crazy and easygoing. I was delighted that I fit the bill because I loved these guys the minute I met them! Not only did I have a chance to capture their engagement photos in graffiti alley earlier this year, but I got to tell the story of their wedding day, too!

Like any wedding day, this one started our early in the morning with the groom. No worries, though, there was plenty of Tim’s coffee to go around. A well caffeinated groom is a happy groom! While the guys were busy ironing out creases and shaving, the little ones were getting ready to put on their spiffy outfits, too. It’s always nice to see the big boys and the little boys sharing some moments together on a wedding day.

Off to The Old Mill to see Jessica and her lovely ladies. Although Jessica started out the day in sweatpants, with the help of her best friends, she became one of the most ravishing brides I have ever laid eyes on. The smokey eyes, the beautiful curls in her long hair, the dress with the perfect silhouette – simply wow!

Inside the tiny chapel at The Old Mill, with her brother walking her down the aisle and giving her hand to Matt, the lovebirds made it to the aisle and managed to get a few laughs into their ceremony before being officially declared husband and wife.

Photos at The Old Mill were followed by a lovely reception at The Brighton. The atmosphere was so inviting – Jess and Matt’s friends and families are some of the most welcoming people I’ve had a chance to work with. Unlike many weddings that are a slough of speeches one after another, Jess and Matt chose to play the Shoe Game before opening up the dance floor. I absolutely adore the shoe game; it’s a fantastic way to allow the couple to let loose and laugh and for the guests to get in on the giggles, too.
