A rustic barn, a view of the lake and fiddleheads everywhere you turn – that, ladies and gentlemen is Adamson Estate.  Tucked away just south of Lakeshore, Adamson Estate is a great background for your engagement photos… especially if you don’t want to have to leave the GTA to get that rustic look!

Getting to spend the afternoon with Jessica and Justin was one of the most fun things I had done in a long time!  These love-birds have the most amazing sense of humour and love to laugh as much as I do.  Knowing how much fun it was to shoot their engagement photos has me looking forward to their upcoming wedding even more than I already was!

My favourite – the fiddlehead shot!  If anyone else remembers the great Toronto ice storm of 2013, you probably remember the massive amounts of ice clinging to every single treebrand in the city.  The storm was destructive and the destruction can still be seen this summer; only half the trees seem to have leaves on them and the fallen branches still litter the paths and trails.  These little fiddleheads; however, were perfect.  Bright green, strong and perfect.  Despite the broken branches all around, seeing this new life pop through the ground was like a breath of fresh air!  Seeing them reminded me of one of my favourite quotes from Alice’s Adventures through the Looking Glass:

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

A Friendly Shout-Out:  Jessica is tremendoulsly talented author and has a new book coming out in June of 2014.  Show Jess some love and take a peek at ‘How to Outrun a Crocodile when your Shoes are Untied’.
