Ah, Teresa and Jeff! Twenty-twelve wouldn’t have been the same without them – what a wonderful couple! Have you ever been lucky enough to meet someone and automatically feel like you’ve known each other for years? That’s what happened the first time I met Teresa and Jeff; their sense of humour, kindness, attention to details and general outlook on life was so similar to mine that when I photographed their lovely November wedding, I felt more like part of the family than a vendor.
Our day started with the lovely couple at the hotel in Markham; Teresa was busy applying the last bit of the makeup when I arrived – I always love seeing a bride who has not only the mad skills to apply their own gorgeous wedding day makeup, but who is also calm enough to do so! (A shout out to Lisa from last spring’s Kleinburg wedding, who did the same!)
We headed to see the boys in the morning, too! Luckily for us, they were right down the hall! (One of the many benefits of getting ready for your wedding day in a beautiful hotel!)
Teresa and Jeff did a “first-look” – a private moment where they got to greet each other for the first time on their wedding day. I love capturing first-look photos because the story they tell is truly exquisite!
After some family and bridal party shots at the Hilton in Markham, we headed to the Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket for more photos and to tie the knot!
Before jumping into another photo session, Teresa and Jeff took a moment to show each other their rings. They each had a special message engraved for the other inside their rings and they wanted a chance to read that inscription before the ceremony. With emotions high and love in the air, the couple snuck in one more kiss before snapping some more photos and taking the walk down the aisle!
The decorations at the wedding were truly superb! Teresa is a DIY queen – in fact, I’m a little jealous because I thought I earned the “DIY Queen” title after my own wedding – but alas, Teresa has stolen that title from me! From hand painting invitations (pictured at the beginning of the post), certerpieces, bouquets and every piece of stationary – Teresa did it all! What an amazing woman!
Since the reception was also hosted at the golf course, it was only appropriate to have a “hole in 1” kissing game! Watching Teresa and Jeff’s friends and families attempt their chance at a hole in 1 was quite entertaining and resulted in great photos for the couple.
The dancing began and the party started, but before the stroke of midnight, Teresa and Jeff took a moment for a late night portrait outdoors with the glow of the Christmas lights all around them! The perfect end to a fairy tale day!
I want to thank Teresa and Jeff for choosing Ten·2·Ten Photography to be there to capture every moment of their wedding day! You two are the most amazing, loving and hilarious couple – it’s been great getting to know you and to share in your special day.
