I love the story of how I met Danielle & Chris and I’m excited to recant it on my blog. Many moons ago, when I was in gradeschool, I attended a leadership camp and met a lovely girl named Lisa. Although we lived in separate towns at the time, we kept in touch with ICQ (does anyone out there remember ICQ or am I dating myself?!?). After a few years, my family moved and Lisa and I ended up in the same town and attended the same high school. After graduation, we found ourselves at the same university and living only one floor apart in our residence. Upon graduating university, we all went our separate ways and Lisa and I ended up in entirely different continents, but thanks to Facebook you could continue to stalk your friends from the comfort of your own home.
Little did I know, Lisa enjoyed lurking on the Ten·2·Ten Photography Facebook page. She followed my work closely over the past several years and, even though she was in the UK, was one of my biggest fans. I received a message from her one day that (not only admitted to her Facebook-stalking tendencies) informing me that she had friends in the UK who were coming to Toronto to get married and that she had referred them to me. I was beaming – not only was I humbled that Lisa had been admiring my work so closely over the years, but that she thought I would be the perfect fit for her friends.
Within a few days I met up with Lisa’s friends: Danielle & Chris. Danielle is from the GTA and Chris, from the UK. They’re planning a small, intimate wedding in the summer of 2013 and decided to choose Ten·2·Ten Photography to capture the events of the day.
The engagement session with Danielle & Chris was an absolute hoot! I had such a wonderful time. We started at Forks of the Credit Park in Mississauga. We hiked for almost 2 hours, stopping along the trails when we saw brides, trees or simply beautiful landscapes that we wanted to use. Just before the sun set, we managed to squeeze in 2 more locations: an abandoned set of railroad tracks as well as the ruins of an abandoned building.
Getting to work with Danielle & Chris was truly a pleasure. They’re funny, charming and very much in love! I can’t wait for their wedding!
