Every now and then I get to escape the world of Toronto wedding photography, hop in my car, turn on some great tunes and take a little trip. Not far; just an hour or so. But boy oh boy – what a lovely sights there are just slightly outside of our city. This Guelph engagement photography session was a super fun adventure of an evening. Escaping the city brought me to a beautiful park with a sweet breeze and the aroma of fresh flowers that were perfectly in bloom but most importantly, it allowed me to spend some time with two people who started the evening as clients but finished as friends. (This is exactly why I include complimentary engagement sessions for my wedding clients; getting to know each other before the big day is so important!)
We began our evening with a walk through the park; finding a sweet little groundhog amongst the flowers there to greet us. This little fellow wasn’t startled by us at all – clearly he’s the king of the park. Knowing very well we were merely visitors in Mr. Groundhog’s park, we moved swiftly past him and found a more secluded, groundhog-free area to walk around, chat and start capturing memories. As we continued throughout the little park we found the most amazing path. Not only lined with trees but with branches extended over top to form somewhat of a tunnel, Danielle & Chris fought the mosquitos and took a walk in to where the light was simply perfect. Just as we were wrapping up the night, we passed by the old carousel. It was so unfortunate that is wasn’t open – but that didn’t stop Danielle! She found the one remaining horse and hopped on, insisting that this was going to be THE picture to summarize the day. I couldn’t agree more.
“Can we take a picture of him pushing me off the ledge?” Danielle asks.
“Sure… if you want. But please, be careful!” I reply
“Oh, don’t worry – we do this all the time. This is kind of our thing” she happily states.
Who am I to deny someone something that is totally, 100% them? Push her off, I say! Let’s do this! (Seriously love these two!)
