When you think of engagement photos in Toronto it’s natural to think High Park as a location. One of the biggest parks in the city is also one of the most popular. Janet decided on High Park engagement photos because of the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are gorgeous – if you haven’t ever seen them in person, it’s a must! Unfortunately for spring of 2014, the High Park cherry blossoms weren’t as vast this year as in other years (I’m thinking the long, slow-coming spring has a little something to do with it). So what’s a photographer to do when they have no control over nature? Well, help suggest another awesome element into the engagement session, of course! And that’s how the picnic came to be…
Janet and David are foodies. Actually, they are super-foodies. They know all the amazing restaurants in Toronto and I’ve been lucky enough to have them take me to a few of them. It was natural to suggest adding a snacking element into their engagement session. Who doesn’t love a sunset picnic?
There’s nothing more awesome than a big ol’ balloon as a prop for your engagement photos! I think every child under the age of 8 was in awe at the sheer size of Janet’s balloon as we carried it around the park with us.
Surprising your fiancé mid-session with a sweet card or a love letter makes for some truly unforgettable candid moments. These two are truly romantics at heart!
I wanted to take this time to say thank you to Janet and David for putting their trust in me and choosing me as their wedding photographer. I love you both – you’re amazing friends and I’m so honoured to have had the chance to capture your engagement love story and look forward to the day you get to walk down the aisle and call each other husband and wife! xoxo
