Mirvish Village Engagement Photos – Unique Engagement Photography Locations

I’m so happy to get to showcase these Mirvish Village Engagement photos today.  If you’re a super-keen blog reader, you may recognize our bride-to-be from one of our previous entries.  Alexia’s brother married the love of his life this past fall at a beautiful and intimate F’Amelia wedding which I had the pleasure to capture.  I was beyond thrilled to get an email from Alexia a few months later asking me to be her photographer, too!  One of the best parts of telling a wedding day story is getting to work with the same family over and over again and keep writing additional chapters worth of stories for them.

When trying to decide on an engagement photo location, we looked for something unique, something different… something that hasn’t been done a thousand times.  Mirvish Village is probably one of the most unique engagement photography locations I’ve had the chance to visit recently.  Aside from being marked by the GIANT “Honest Ed’s” building, the few streets that comprise Mirvish Village are filled with amazing colours, texture and art.  With a fun loving couple like this, an open outdoor location filled with bright and beautiful backgrounds was a must!

On a Side-Note:  Honest Ed’s closing is in the immediate future.  It won’t be long now until the massive discount store with the big ol’ lightup sign outside shuts their doors forever.  This decision is absolutely not without controversy.  Honest Ed’s is a Toronto landmark, at least I think it is (along with several thousand other Torontonians) and it will be a shame when it’s torn down and replaced with condos.  For all the Toronto-loving couples out there who are looking for a truly unique location for your engagement photos, or better yet, even your wedding photos, please consider having a little bit of Toronto history appear as a part of your special memories.
