Brian (and his entire family) are very important people in my life – they’re the kinds of friends who are just like family! I was truly honored when Brian and his new fiance, Megan, asked me to be their wedding photographer. They started telling me all about their winery wedding and the picture of beautiful and perfect wedding day was already starting to form.
A few months later, the day arrives. Brian and Megan’s wedding day was just as beautiful and as perfect as they had envisioned! My day started off early in the morning with the bride, her bridal party, and family. We drank coffee, ate muffins and snapped photos as the girls all got their hair curled and applied their makeup. Getting ready on a wedding day, at least for women, is a very intricate and somewhat lengthy process. (After all, it’s hard to be that beautiful – no?)
While the girls were having their curls pinned up and styled into updos, I went to see the groom for his ‘getting ready’ photos. I arrived to find all the guys in old t-shirts, shorts and sandels as they washed and waxed their trucks. Yes – I said trucks. Those manly and massive machines had every detail accented and every smudge buffed away as they were being prepped for a very important day. After several hours of prepping the mighty machines, it took Brian all of 15 minutes to shower, shave and get his suit on. Once all dressed up, Brian looked absolutely dashing!
The intimate ceremony took place outdoors under the protective cover of a tent as the weather was not in our favour that day. After the ceremony, we went straight into pictures! We took photos in a variety of locations within Peninsula Ridge including the tank room. The Peninsula Ridge employee looked at us in quite an odd way when we said that we wanted to photograph in the tank room. She said ‘you mean the wine cellar?’. We replies “No… we mean the tank room.” Not seeing the beauty in the tankroom, and probably thinking we were just a little crazy, the employee let us into the tank room and it is here that I captured some of my most favourite photos of the day!
Right before dinner the clouds let up and the sun came out. We raced into the vineyard itself to take a few photos before heading into the reception.
The evening finished off with a lovely dinner and then some good old fashioned partying! It was definitely a day to remember.
Thank you so much, Megan & Brian, for choosing me as your wedding photographer. I wish you nothing but love and happiness for all the years to come! xoxo
