Rockwood Conservation Wedding: Bridal Styled Session

This spring I had the chance to participate in a variety of styled session with a group of outstanding vendors and beautiful brides at one of the most picturesque wedding photography locations: Rockwood Conservation Area.  Although I haven’t shot a real Rockwood Conservatio wedding yet, I was thrilled to be able to shoot these several styled sessions amongst the Rockwood ruins.

The stylists did an amazing job creating a variety of sets (or ‘vignettes’) to photograph our blushing brides including: a vanity, a cake table and a market.  I had an amazing time photographing our 4 other beauties across a variety of these vignettes.  When I was working with Erin; however, I drew inspiration from her dress: a tea-length gown made of simple lace.  I wanted to photograph Erin in a location that was simple yet still powerful so I chose my background to be the ruins themselves.  Utilizing various aspects of the ruins such as ledges, windows and corners, I was able to create a breathtaking bridal session that showcases Erin’s beauty and calm spirit.

Keeping with the theme of our styled session; however, our hair stylists incorporated a simple curled ribbon into Erin’s hair which complemented Erin’s clean, crisp and look.

From Erin:  “When Anne put out the request for brides wanting to wear their dresses again I jumped at the opportunity. It was so much fun wearing my dress again! I enjoyed having the opportunity to work with such amazing women and loved our “girls day”! Thanks for including me in this special project!!|
