The Simpsons Baby Shower
It’s not very often that we photograph event photography – about 99% of our portfolio is Toronto weddings; although this particular event was a was special one. The Simpsons baby shower images in this post were captured at Erika’s baby shower! Yes, it’s about that time. After spending years behind the camera, capturing weddings and having the priviledge of watching her client’s expand their own families, Erika is now ready to expand hers! For those who have been shooting their engagement photos with Erika this spring or taking her workshops, they’ve seen the ever-expanding belly. Now that the little one is almost here, it’s time to celebrate and put the camera away (who are we kidding, Erika has it packed in her hospital-bag already!!)
Like any typical Toronto wedding photographer, Erika kept the shower at a location that was comfortable for her – a friend’s photography studio. Hanging out around backgrounds, seamless paper and an intricate array of gear truly made Erika feel like she was at home. The team behind this awesome shower consisted of other awesome local photographers and some of Erika’s closest friends (who started out as clients) as well as Chairman Mills, Hogtown Smoke and Nicole Ostonal Beauty. Yes, it was certainly a dream team of talent to helped put this one together. Sarah, part of the Ten·2·Ten Team, was there to capture the Simpsons themed party details while Erika could relax and soak up the moment. While it certainly was weird for Erika to not have a camera in her hands, she trusts Sarah 100% and when you see the photos, you’ll see that Sarah totally nailed it!
But where did all the Simpsons references come from? Well, that was Erika and her husbands doing. They are fans. HARDCORE fans. Classic years (seasons 1-11) of course. Not to mention, they had a little help from a group of close internet friends in the Woo-Hoo Trivia Group (both the large group and the Toronto group). Those folks are amazing, there’s no doubt about it.
