I loveloveLOVED spending the evening shooting these Phyllis Rawlinson Park engagement photos with Donna and Joe. Did I mention how much I loved it? Yeah, because I absolutely loved it. What an amazing and fun couple. Yep, totally loved it.
A lot of couples get the “engagement photo jitters’ before a session and it’s totally normal! Truthfully, the last time the majority of 20 or 30-somethings were infront of a camera was highschool class photos or perhaps an occasional family picture at a big box store. Fine art photography isn’t exactly something the majority of people treat themselves to unless there’s a big event coming up – like a wedding! (People should treat themselves to it more often, but I’ll let the images speak for themselves on that one…) I got a few texts from Donna before the session; what should I wear? I’m kind of nervous! I’m worried about being awkward! I get these exact texts from all my clients before a session and as I always do – I promised her that we would work together, joke around, be silly and make an adventure out of it. I’m so grateful that both Donna and Joe put their faith in me and allowed me to parade them through Phyllis Rawlinson park because the resulting images are some of my favourites that I may have ever taken.
So what’s the secret to taking great engagement photos at Phyllis Rawlinson Park? You have to love your photographer!! Yes, that last statement deserves a double-exclamation. Feeling that “click” with your photographer, no pun intended, is absolutely essential when you’re trying to find your perfect wedding photographer. I am so thankful that my clients are all awesome, animal loving, super relaxed people with amaaaazing senses of humour and Donna and Joe are the absolute epitome of that. After spending an evening with them capturing these awesome Toronto engagement photos I feel like I not only have the best clients in the world but also some great new friends!
I can’t wait to capture the moments of your wedding day (I may be just as excited as you both are!)
