When I first met Tina and Raj I was absolutely blown away at how much these two love each other! After chatting with them for only a few minute it was pretty obvious that they were a sweet, fun-loving couple who wasn’t only excited about their actual wedding day but moreso excited about getting to spend the rest of their lives together.
Tina and Raj were planning for Kariya Park engagement photos and although we got rained out on our first try (we’re talking downright thunder storms!) the weather juuuuust held out long enough for us to spend an afternoon wandering around Kariya Park amongst the fall colours.
I’ve photographed engagement sessions at Kariya Park before but never in the fall so I was thrilled at the chance. Kariya Park is always gorgeous; the foliage is dense and luxurious, the pathways gently covered by a delicate ceiling of greenery and the architectural pieces (including the mosaic wall and bell) are a wonderful finishing touch. Now, add the fiery and fierce colours of fall to all of that and you’ve got one spectacular park!
Despite a few drops of rain here and there, Raj and Tina were still as happy as can be and it was a spectacular day!
TIP: If you fear a bit of rain during your photo session always come prepared with an umbrella. Don’t just pick up any ol’ umbrella, though, by putting a bit of thought into it you can really change the quality of the photos. First, select a neutral coloured umbrella like a grey, black, indigo or purple. Brighter colours like red, pink or green can cast odd colour tones onto your skin if they aren’t properly lined. Also, if you have the chance to buy an umbrella that’s lined with a silver material (typically UV protective umbrellas) those will help the light be a tad more flattering under the umbrella (which means prettier pictures!) Finally, purchase a golf-sized umbrellas – the bigger the better!
