When Wendy and Kwan were searching for their ideal Toronto wedding photographer they happened to stumble on my blog. Wendy read all of my articles and decided to schedule a consult – and what a great consult it was! I instantly felt like I was sitting down with friends and having a casual chat about their wedding day. Needless to say, we were a match for one another and I had the pleasure of photographing not only their German Mills Settler’s Park engagement photos but also of capturing their wedding day story, too! This is the story of Wendy and Kwan’s wedding day:
Arriving at the bride’s house, I was instantly greeted with warmth and friendliness from all. The energy in the room was that of excitement as the day began to buzz with wedding tasks and timelines had to be met. I took a brief moment in what I knew was going to be an energetic day to capture some of the finer details of the morning. I was blown away by the craftiness and detail I found! Wendy sure is a talented lady (as you’ll see throughout the blog post). The most touching detail of all was her white dress – made with love, stitch by stitch, by her father. To be literally clothed in love — I have no words for how beautiful that really is.
The sun had risen, the birds were chirping, the details had been captured and Kwan was wearing lipstick. Wait. What? As Wendy beautified herself (not that she needs any help – she’s absolutely gorgeous every day of the year) Kwan and his boys had to earn their right to see the bride. Wendy’s lovely ladies put the boys through quite a few tests and they certainly were good sports about it – even when they had their eyebrows plucked!Photos were followed by a beautiful ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house… until Wendy dropped the ring as she tried to put it on Kwan’s finger. Luckily, the best man earned his title and fetched it for our darling bride. Surely a moment they will never forget.Tea ceremonies with Kwan’s family, an amazing meal, heartfelt speeches and a cake as delicious as it looked. The reception at the Mandarin Golf Course was complimented by a beautiful setting sun and a great view out on the greens.
Kwan and Wendy – your wedding day was beautiful; not only in the details but because of the people you chose to share it with. Your friends and families love you dearly and you are so lucky to have such wonderful people as a part of your lives. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness as husband and wife!
