Rustic Toronto Wedding
Kevin and Danyelle’s rustic Toronto wedding was, simply put, a perfect day. Sure, it rained moments before the bride was supposed to walk down the aisle at an outdoor ceremony, but there was a 6-foot tall game of Kerplunk and a cottage full of the bride and groom’s closest family and friends. What else could you want on a wedding day?
Danyelle’s bouquet was made with a combination of pods, stems, jewels and paper flowers. It was elegant, it was rustic and it still looks as great today as it did on the wedding not. Not all weddings use fresh flowers and Danyelle’s bouquet is an example of how tremendously unique a bouquet can be when you think outside the box.
If the bouquet’s were not unique enough, Danyelle’s dress was the centerpiece of the day. How many brides will buy a wedding dress and then take a pair of scissors to it? Just one. Danyelle. Danyelle worked closely with a seamstress as she entirely re-designed an existing dress to make it suit her personality and style.
It was a cozy cottage; all the girls were in the same room getting ready. Despite the chaos of a wedding morning, Danyelle found the time to patiently and calmy write her speech.
There’s nothing more sweet than choosing to do a first look before you actually walk down the aisle. The emotion it captures is so genuine and the moment is truly yours to remember.
There ceremony was all set up when the rain clouds came rolling in. Luckily their cottage had a beautiful staircase and a loft to easily accommodate guests for an indoor ceremony.
They did it – the knot was tied and the BBQ was ready! Pulled port, ribs, chicken and corn. A rustic and wholesome meal for the most perfect rustic wedding day.
… and let’s not forget about that 6-foot tall game of Kerplunk I was talking about. Kevin and Danyelle love games – they even incorporated a game of Blokus into their Starving Artist engagement photos earlier this year. It’s understandable that they would have a few games at their wedding, too!
They danced the night away and the rain began to pour even harder. I’m so fortunate that my clients have trust in me and when I say things like “QUICK! Let’s go down to the dock during this downpour, I have an idea!” they don’t hesitate for a minute.
Congratulations to you both on an amazing wedding day!
