Being a Toronto newborn photographer allows me the opportunity to travel all around our great city and meet some of the most amazing families. Whether you’re north of the city or in the heart of downtown, I’m always happy to come for a visit and capture your first few days together as a family.
I first met Kathryn during her lifestyle maternity photography session. She was glowing and I was oh so jealous (since I was 3 months pregnant at the time I was FAR from glowing). Her little guy, a.k.a. the-soon-to-be-big-brother, was already deeply in love with his little sister and it showed as he kissed his moms belly. Flash forward a few weeks and little Isla has made her way into the world!
Lifestyle newborn sessions are so relaxed and stress free. Our session took place over two hours and little Isla slept for most of it as mom and dad rocked her, cuddled her and spent time lovingly staring down at her. And the big brother? Well, he was MORE than excited to finally have met his little sister! While she’s a little too small to jump around with him right now, there’s no doubt that once she gets bigger, they’ll be the best of friends.
Enjoy a few of our favourite snapshots from Kathryn’s newborn session!
Toronto Newborn Photographer: Tips and Tricks
The trick to getting a sleepy baby during your lifestyle session is to schedule it in the first 2 weeks of life. During this time, baby is eating and sleeping and spending very little time awake. Starting around the third week of life, your baby will tend to be more alert and some babies may start to be fussy during their alert times. Since it’s difficult to have a schedule so early in baby’s life it can be difficult to anticipate when baby might be fussy; so schedule your newborn session in the first two weeks of life to help ensure that the odds of a sleepy and happy baby are in your favour!
