Toronto Maternity Photographer: Deb & Ryan
When you’re a Toronto maternity photographer; you often get to meet your clients near the end of their pregnancy. Around month 7 or 8; once the “bump” has definitely popped but before the risk of your water breaking mid-session is real. One of my favourite things about this session; however, is that I got to know Deb and Ryan WAY before the bump. I first met Deb and Ryan when she only had an engagement ring on her finger and they were planning their Archeo wedding. We stayed in contact through the years and after enjoying a few amazing years as husband and wife, the happy couple were lucky enough to bring a baby into the world.
When I sat down with Deb at the beginning of her session, I couldn’t help but think of the story behind the “bump”. A lot of things in life happened to get to where they are today; of all the people in the world Deb could have met, she met Ryan and fell deeply in love with him. She said yes to the proposal and again at the altar. They were supported by family and friends all throughout their relationship and the love felt for the little baby inside that bump is deeper and more intense than anything one can imagine. The journey through life is incredible; our stories are so unique and so intricate. I was so honoured to photograph this chapter in the story of Deb & Ryan and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.
Tips from a Toronto Maternity Photographer
Start looking for photographers when you’re 4-5 months pregnant and book your session when you’re between 32-37 weeks. In some instances, if you’re having twins or if your doctor thinks you may have your baby sooner, you may want to book your session closer to the 30-32 week mark. Lifestyle maternity photos are taken either in your home or at a location of your choosing. If your wish to photograph in your home and take photos in the nursery, keep the date of your session in mind when planning those finishing touches for decor!
