Cherry Beach Engagement
Cherry Beach engagement photos were a very popular request this year. The quaint little beach at the end of Cherry Rd. isn’t as much of a well-kept secret as I thought. Everyone seems to want to be at Cherry Beach for their pictures. Maybe it’s because of the super-sweet little lifeguard station or because of the beautiful open waters that make you forget there’s a city of 2.5 million right behind you. Maybe it’s because of the tall grass and weeping willow trees. Or maybe because there’s a food truck nearby that makes really, really great poutine!
One of the things I adore about these Cherry Beach photos is that the couple opted to wear bright colours. Bold colours, especially primary colours, always steal the show in engagement photos… in a great way! They bring the focus back to the couple, regardless of what the background may be. I’m totally digging the yellow and red outfits and I’m a little jealous that I don’t look nearly as stunning in yellow as Ashleigh does. I can’t wait to see her all done up on her wedding day!!
When I was younger, there was a song called Cherry Rd. by Martina Sorbara. Most of you may know her as Dragonette now, but before the electric pop days, Martina was an amazing singer-songerwriter and Cherry Rd. was one of my faves. Not having grown up in Toronto, I had no idea what Cherry Rd. looked like or what the beach at the end of Cherry Rd. looked like. I knew the sand was coarse and the water the cold but even such a beautiful song could not do Cherry Beach justice. It’s just a beautiful place.
The skies began to darken and the fluffiest clouds began to descend on the city. It was only a matter of time before the raindrops made an appearance, but there’s always time for a few more photos, no? The beautiful band on hot pink along the horizon was too perfect not to capture in an image.
Congratulations Ashleigh and Kyle! I had such a wonderful time capturing your engagement images and I know your wedding day is going to be even more amazing!
