Rockwood Conservation Engagement Photos: Nicole + Ian

Nicole & Ian are an amazing couple; in fact – they are beyond amazing – they are spectacular. They have tackled many hardships during their years together but have only grown stronger as a result.

Both Nicole & Ian have a love for the outdoors so it took quite a bit of brainstorming to find an outdoors location for their engagement photos in Toronto that had all the characteristics they were looking for; vast fields, rivers, lakes, trees and pure serenity. Although there are many exceptionally fantastic Toronto photography locations, nothing really fit Nicole & Ian perfectly so we decided to hop in the car and take the drive to Rockwood Conservation Area near Guelph, Ontario.

Little did Nicole know, as she was getting her hair and makeup done prior to the session, Ian and I were putting together the finishing touches on a surprise for Nicole.

The surprise: A few weeks before the Rockwood Conservation Area engagement session, I received this email from Ian

“I found myself a country girl who appreciates all of the small things as much as the big things in life. I want to see the big smile that lit up her entire face just like the first time I met her. Funny thing is she had me at Hello.

With the help from yourself, I’d like to re-propose to Nicole in Guelph at the Rockwood Conservation Area. She has went above and beyond and I think she would be overjoyed! I proposed to Nicole August 8th – 4 years ago – up at her 410 acre cottage in French River while taking a quad ride through the numerous trails on her property. Since then we’ve been put through so many obstacles and up and downs and I just want her to know that I will always love her and my heart belongs to her. She is that special light in my eyes and the tender feeling in my heart. I’d like to confess my undiying love for her all over again. I look at this being a new beginning to me and Nicole’s life long Journey.

I found a book entitled ‘love’ that is filled with love quotes which has been one of Nic’s favourite books; she keeps by her bedside. Inside that book I’m going to write. “You had me at Hello. You always told me I looked better when I smile, now I want to see your beautiful smile then right down Nicole Lynn Abbott will you Marry Me?” With her ring hanging on the inside from a red ribbon! To me this is the proper proposal she deserves and what better way of a surprise then on our engagement shoot!”
