When I first started my journey of offering lifestyle photography sessions, I was so excited to be photographing newborns. Newborns are absolutely adorable; their little fingers and teensy weensy toes. Their sweet smiles and perfect skin. Everything about a newborn is just amazing. Never did I think I”d be able to refer to myself as a Toronto newborn twin photographer, though! What an honour it was to photograph not one, but TWO perfect little babies. Seriously, think of all those fingers and toes! SO CUTE!
Twin girls; two beautiful and perfect little girls. They were wrapped in different shades of pink blankets and one of them even had a wee bit of nail polish on her big toe. Why? Well, you have to do something when you have identical twins! We made sure the blanket she was in matched her nail polish. Sure, you may be only a few weeks old, but it’s important to be co-ordinated!
This session has be smiling from start to finish. The girls sleeping beside each other, crib next to crib. When you spend 9 months in very close quarters with your sister, I’m sure that even side-by-side cribs seem like worlds away. Mom and dad snuggled with the twins while their big sister got in for some snuggles too.
When you have a newborn, you’re exhausted. Not just for a few days but often for a few weeks and in some instances, a few months. Despite being exhausted, seeing the whole family cuddling together and enjoying life as a family of five kept me smiling all day!
Toronto Newborn Twin Photographer: Tips for your Session
Twins typically arrive a bit earlier than singletons. If you’re considering maternity photos, make sure to book them when you’re approximately 30-33 weeks pregnant. If you’re scheduling newborn photos along with your maternity photos, keep your photographer up-to-date when the babies arrive to make sure that the session is scheduled when the babies are less than 2 weeks old. If your babies have to stay in the hospital for a while, that’s okay! While it’s preferred to have sleepier babies for the sessions, it’s more important to have healthy babies. Keep communication open with your photographer so that they know when you get discharged from the hospital; from there, a date can be set for your session regardless of how many days (or weeks) old the babies are.
